1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Tikkabo (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years of age to use Tikkabo. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 13 or older. Tikkabo enforces this requirement through a date-of-birth verification at sign-up in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
If you are between 13 and 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction), you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Service. Your parent or guardian agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Tikkabo. They apply to all users of the Service, including visitors, registered users, marketplace sellers, and marketplace buyers.
2. Description of Service
Tikkabo is an AI-powered children’s picture book generator designed for parents, families, and caregivers of children ages 0–8. The Service allows users to create personalized picture books using artificial intelligence.
2.1 Platforms
Tikkabo is available on the following platforms:
- iOS
- Android
2.2 Core Features
- Book creation — enter a story prompt, select an art style, choose a target age group, decide a genre, pick a language, and set page count
- Two-phase creation — AI generates a story script for preview and optional refinement (up to 3 refinements), followed by illustration generation upon confirmation
- UGC marketplace — list completed books for sale; browse and purchase books created by other users
2.3 Supported Languages
Tikkabo supports content creation and user interface in 7 languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean.
2.4 Session Limits
Book creation sessions are subject to session limits; see in-app guidance for current limits. This limit applies to the script generation phase.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Registration
To use Tikkabo, you must create an account using one of the following authentication methods provided through our authentication system:
- Apple
- Email and password
You must provide accurate and complete information during registration, including a valid date of birth for age verification purposes.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:
- Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Accept responsibility for all activities conducted through your account
3.3 Suspension and Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without prior notice, if we reasonably believe that:
- You have violated these Terms or any applicable law
- You have engaged in fraudulent or abusive behavior
- You have submitted content that violates our content safety policies
- Your account has been used by someone under the age of 13
4. AI-Generated Content
4.1 How AI Is Used
Tikkabo uses the following AI technologies to generate content:
- AI text generation services — generates story text
- AI image generation services — generates illustrations based on story content
4.2 Content Ownership
AI-generated stories and illustrations created through Tikkabo are provided to you for your personal and commercial use within the Service, subject to the following terms:
- You may use, display, and share books you create through Tikkabo, including listing them on the Tikkabo marketplace
- By using the Service, you grant Tikkabo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, display, distribute, and make available your AI-generated content through the Service, including for marketplace listings, deeplink previews, and promotional purposes
- Ownership of AI-generated content may be subject to applicable laws in your jurisdiction. Tikkabo makes no representations regarding the copyrightability of AI-generated content under any particular legal framework
4.3 Limitations of AI Output
Important: AI-generated content may not always be accurate, appropriate, or free of errors. While Tikkabo employs a multi-layer content safety system, we do not guarantee that all generated content will be suitable for all audiences. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before sharing it with children.
- AI models may produce unexpected, inaccurate, or repetitive output
- Generated illustrations may contain visual artifacts or inconsistencies
- Tikkabo does not guarantee that AI-generated content will be unique or not resemble existing works
- You acknowledge that AI technology is evolving, and the quality and nature of output may change over time
4.4 Creative Profile
Tikkabo progressively builds a creative profile based on your usage patterns, including preferred themes, art styles, character archetypes, and vocabulary complexity. This profile is used to personalize AI suggestions in future book creations. You may delete your creative profile by deleting your account.
5. Coin System
5.1 Virtual Currency
Tikkabo uses a virtual currency system called “Coins.” Coins are used to create books and purchase books on the marketplace. Coins have no real-world monetary value.
5.2 Coin Pricing
Book creation costs are based on page count, and maybe subject to change in the future
Coins are deducted only when you confirm the generated script and proceed to illustration generation, not during the script preview phase.
5.3 Coin Terms
- No real-money purchases — Coins are granted through the Service and are not available for purchase with real money
- Non-transferable — Coins cannot be transferred between accounts except through marketplace transactions
- Non-refundable — Coins spent on book creation or marketplace purchases cannot be refunded
- No cash value — Coins cannot be exchanged for real money, gift cards, or any other form of monetary value
- Subject to change — Tikkabo reserves the right to modify coin pricing, distribution, and mechanics at any time
5.4 Coin Forfeiture
If your account is terminated for violation of these Terms, any remaining Coin balance will be forfeited. Coins are also forfeited upon voluntary account deletion.
6. Marketplace
6.1 Listing Books
You may list completed AI-generated books for sale on the Tikkabo marketplace. By listing a book, you:
- Confirm that the book was created using Tikkabo and does not violate our content safety policies
- Grant Tikkabo the right to display, promote, and distribute the book through the marketplace
- Agree that the book will be available for purchase by other users using Coins
6.2 Purchasing Books
When you purchase a book on the marketplace, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to view and enjoy the book within the Tikkabo Service. Marketplace purchases are made with Coins and are non-refundable.
6.3 Commission
Tikkabo charges a commission on marketplace sales. The commission rate may be adjusted at Tikkabo’s discretion. Seller earnings (after commission) are credited to the seller’s Coin balance.
6.4 Seller Responsibilities
As a marketplace seller, you are responsible for ensuring that:
- Your listed books comply with these Terms and our content safety policies
- Book titles and descriptions are accurate and not misleading
- You do not engage in fraudulent or manipulative practices (e.g., artificially inflating view counts)
6.5 Marketplace Content Moderation
Tikkabo reserves the right to remove any marketplace listing that violates these Terms, our content safety policies, or applicable law, without prior notice or compensation.
7. Content Safety & Prohibited Content
7.1 Three-Layer Content Protection
Tikkabo employs a three-layer content protection system to ensure the safety and appropriateness of all content:
- Input filtering — user prompts are screened before submission to AI models
- AI-level safety — our AI services include built-in safety controls for content generation
- Output review — generated content is reviewed for appropriateness before delivery
7.2 Copyright Protection
Tikkabo maintains a list of prohibited terms to prevent the generation of content that infringes on third-party copyrights or trademarks. Prompts containing these terms will be rejected.
7.3 Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use Tikkabo to:
- Generate content that is violent, sexually explicit, hateful, discriminatory, or otherwise harmful
- Create content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of third parties
- Attempt to bypass or circumvent content safety filters
- Generate content intended to harm, exploit, or endanger children
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law
- Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to access the Service without authorization
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
8. User-Generated Content
8.1 Your Content
Tikkabo allows you to create and share content through the Service, including story prompts, book creations, and marketplace listings (collectively, “User Content”). You retain any rights you may have in User Content that you submit, subject to the license granted below.
8.2 License to Tikkabo
By submitting User Content to the Service, you grant Tikkabo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, display, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating and providing the Service. This license includes the right to:
- Host and store your content on our servers
- Display your content on the marketplace and in deeplink previews (including Open Graph social media cards)
- Use your content for service improvement and AI model quality assurance
- Transfer marketplace content to a platform system account upon account deletion (see Section 10)
8.3 Content Moderation
Tikkabo reserves the right, but is not obligated, to review, monitor, and remove User Content at our sole discretion for any reason, including content that we determine violates these Terms, our content safety policies, or applicable law.
8.4 Feedback
If you submit feedback through the in-app feedback feature, you grant Tikkabo the right to use that feedback for any purpose, including product improvement, without any obligation or compensation to you.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1 Tikkabo’s Ownership
The Tikkabo Service, including its software, design, logos, trademarks, and all associated intellectual property, is owned by Tikkabo and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the Service except for the limited license to use the Service as described herein.
9.2 User Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the Tikkabo software or any portion thereof
- Use Tikkabo’s trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written consent
- Create derivative works based on the Service itself (as distinct from content you generate using the Service)
- Use any data mining, scraping, or similar data-gathering techniques on the Service
9.3 Third-Party Intellectual Property
Tikkabo respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content on the Service infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please contact us at [Contact Email] with a detailed description of the alleged infringement.
10. Account Deletion
10.1 User-Initiated Deletion
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
10.2 What Happens When You Delete Your Account
When you request account deletion:
- Your personal data (profile information, creative profile, coin balance, feedback history) is permanently deleted from our database
- Your privately held books and associated images are permanently deleted
- Your authentication credentials are removed from our authentication system
10.3 Content Handover for Marketplace Books
Important: If you have published books on the marketplace, those books will be transferred to a platform system account upon account deletion. This ensures that users who have purchased your books retain access to them. The transferred books will be disassociated from your identity.
By publishing books on the marketplace, you acknowledge and consent to this content handover process in the event of account deletion. This transfer is necessary to protect the interests of purchasers who acquired your books in good faith.

11. Disclaimers
11.1 “As Is” Service
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
11.2 AI Limitations
Tikkabo does not warrant that:
- AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, appropriate, or free of errors
- AI-generated illustrations will be consistent, high-quality, or free of visual artifacts
- The content safety system will catch all inappropriate or harmful content
- AI-generated content will not resemble existing copyrighted works
You acknowledge that AI technology is inherently imperfect and that you use AI-generated content at your own risk. You are responsible for reviewing all content before sharing it with children or others.
11.3 Service Availability
Tikkabo does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice.
11.4 Third-Party Services
Tikkabo relies on third-party services (including cloud infrastructure and AI processing services) to operate. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or reliability of these third-party services.
12. Limitation of Liability
12.1 Cap on Damages
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TIKKABO, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY DAMAGES EXCEEDING THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO TIKKABO IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
12.2 Exclusion of Consequential Damages
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TIKKABO BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
- Cost of procuring substitute services
- Any damages arising from AI-generated content
- Any damages related to your use of or inability to use the Service
- Any damages related to marketplace transactions
This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise), even if Tikkabo has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
12.3 Jurisdictional Limitations
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tikkabo, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Your User Content, including any claims that your content infringes third-party rights
- Your marketplace activities (as buyer or seller)
- Any misuse of AI-generated content
14. Dispute Resolution
14.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
14.2 Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal dispute resolution proceeding, you agree to first contact us at [Contact Email] and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
14.3 Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
14.4 Class Action Waiver
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YOU AND TIKKABO EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION, COLLECTIVE ACTION, OR OTHER REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. ALL DISPUTES SHALL BE RESOLVED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS.
14.5 International Users
If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, you acknowledge that your use of the Service is governed by these Terms and California law. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page
- Notify you through the app or via other reasonable means for significant changes
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.
16. Severability & Waiver
16.1 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.
16.2 Waiver
The failure of Tikkabo to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision. No waiver of any term shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term.
16.3 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tikkabo regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications, whether written or oral.
